Did you know that today it is US Independence Day? The whole blogosphere is filled with cute creative projects related to the American flag, and we can’t help trying some of them. Even for those of us who are not American, it is kind of hard not to get involved in their culture. From Wonderwoman, to Ralph Lauren’s iconic sweaters, fashion has been loving US’s colors for as far as we can remember. And we can’t blame it. Their patriotic icons are so eye-catching, aren’t they? So today we came up with a selection of our favorite 4th of July DIY’s. Because you don’t really need to be American to love white stars print. We hope you guys enjoy!

Above these lines there’s one of our favorite projects, these 4th of July inspired DIY jeans made by Sylvia from Dare to DIY, who is one of our Be In ambassadors by the way! She designed this cool tutorial to recycle an old pair of jeans with stars. We love this idea! Watch her full DIY tutorial here.

Simply Jolleen gets a new pair of denim shorts just by adding some textile paint. She used tape to mark the stripes and drew the stars with a thin brush.

To get a flowing color effect you’d better use liquid dye. Use a pair of white denim shorts and dip them into blue and red dye. Then add a few star studs for the final touch. We saw these shorts on Ebay.

4th of july diy-02If you are not crafty enough to paint your clothes, you can always glue a piece of printed fabric. This shorts with a flag detail on the back pockets, from M&J Blog, are super easy to make, even if you are not a super skilled DIYer.

We fell in love with this patriotic DIY sign from Craftaholics Anonymous. It looks so fresh and reminiscent of the summer. It’s perfect for a summer home by the sea!

Last but not least… Nail Art!! Join the 4th of July DIY culture by adding stars and red stripes to your manicure. You can even use some metallics as Nail Side did in this beautiful design.
